A Prayer For Being Christ-like

Father, You have given us the greatest example of a humble spirit in the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who had nowhere to lay His head. He went to where the needs were rather than the place where comforts awaited Him. This is most especially expressed when He gave up His position in heaven where Jesus, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with You something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, He was made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross! From the heights of the heavens to the depths of the earth we submit our will and our attitudes to Your conformity through Christ our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.
