Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”

Father, there are wonders and mercies that You grant to every generation. We thrill at the sight of a newborn. We find pleasure in watching an active, playful child. We’re amazed and prayerful as the child grows into their questioning teen years. And we rejoice as the youth takes on the responsibilities of adulthood and family. We respond differently to every generation and conclude with respect and honor to those who go before us; the seniors and elderly. They deal with confinement, pain, physical and mental changes, in addition to the repeated losses of friends and family members. Prompt our memories to include them in our activities when possible, to give them personal attention, to pray for them regularly, and to seek them out when they’re among us. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Father, we thank You for the incarnation of Jesus who saw our greatest need and gave fully of Himself to reconcile us to You. We are eternally grateful that our sin debt was paid by the sinless Lamb of God. We thank You for our Redeemer and friend, Jesus, the everlasting Light of Glory who chooses to be revealed in an imperfect people. What greater love could there be! We humbly thank You, Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Mary said, “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…. The Mighty One has done great things for me – holy is his name.”

Father, we are grateful to be Your children. It is not by our own goodness, giftings, or generosity that we can buy or earn this standing. It is because of Jesus who came in earthly form so that He could reach His own people and release them from their sins. Though many still turn away from the Gospel message we choose to believe and gratefully declare that we are the children of God. Nothing can compare with such privilege or power as we make our earthly journey. In the name of Jesus, we reaffirm and joyfully proclaim our decision to follow You all the days of our lives. Amen.

When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Father, we choose to walk by faith and not by sight as we trust You in the mysterious working of Your divine plan in our lives. You go before us, walk beside us, and uphold us with Your righteous hand as You direct us according to Your Word.

Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes.

Father, we are all recipients of the kindnesses of others who lay aside their own interests; who give generously of their time and resources to assist us in our hour of need. An even greater blessing results when we are the one who extends ourselves to those in need. Jesus knew of our greatest need and laid aside His throne in heaven for the footstool of the earth. He didn’t consider equality with You to be more important than our need for salvation but deferred to our need above His own interests. Help us to follow His supreme example as we look to the interests of others in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
